The sun set behind a cover of clouds and because of that, it seemed that the shortest day was holding on for every moment that it could. It was as if the day shared the fear of our ancient ancestors – that the longest night would never end and the sun would never be reborn. Okay, so most of my Pagan friends actually celebrated yesterday, as the 21st is usually when the solstice falls, but this year it falls on the 22nd. So, tonight the sun will go down and our apartment will go dark (no, the woods aren’t close enough that I see a red-bearded giant walking out) and I will sit and reflect before lighting a candle and leaving it burning in our window. BLESSED YULE AND MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!
So July 9th came and went and I completely forgot. Josh and I have officially been smoke free for four months (had to recount that, can’t even remember how long it’s been)! We’re doing good – have some strange dreams in which I’m smoking, but I always wake up feeling guilty. I have to confess to the hubs before I feel better. Still coughing gross stuff up every now and then, but not as bad as I was. Continue reading
