Hello out there in WordPress land!

So, it’s been a hectic few weeks, and I’ll tell ya all about it, but first – today is the two month anniversary of my husband and I quitting smoking!  Two months since we quit, and no cigarettes, no cheating…nothing!  We’ve done something that we haven’t done before!  I’m still coughing crap up, but it’s like my hubby says, I smoked for over half my life – fifteen years – that’s a long time for my lungs to recover from.  I do feel better. Having a blue day…

So as I sit here at the house, trying to write, trying to focus on something, I realize that I’m having a blue day.  I’m not depressed – I’ve been there and I recognize what that feels like – just a little blue.  Maybe it’s the weather – a little gray, cool again, and a dreary Saturday, though it’s only our Thursday.  I’m just a little melancholy.  I miss my friends, I miss my family. When will it be me?

So, those out there who have children, before you had children, did you have one of these moments?  I’m cruising through the “Tag Surfer” on my WordPress dashboard, and I see a picture that’s obviously a woman with a child in her lap, and she’s smiling.  And I nearly started crying.  I’m ready for that to be me. Happy Beltane!

Happy Beltane!  May your day be beautiful, your lands and life be fertile, and your summer bountiful!  It’s a beautiful day here today.  I took my husband to work and driving on S Lake Shore, with the windows down, sunroof open, and oldies station (all 60s weekend, woot!) blaring was invigorating.  We’ll be doing a ritual tonight (which we always try to do at least Beltane and Samhain, usually Yule and the summer solstice), but for the first time we’ll be doing a fertility ritual.
