So, in November, Joshwa received a poor performance review at work, putting our plans to transfer out of here on hold. But yesterday, he had his next one (Wal-Mart does performance reviews every six months) – and he, unsurprisingly, received a solid positive review again. Why unsurprising? Well, we have a few different theories about why he got the negative review – especially since everyone who received yearly reviews (raise reviews) was given a poor review – but Joshwa is recognized by everyone who works directly with him to be one of the hardest workers at that store, so I’m not surprised in the least.
So, he got his positive review, which means he’s again eligible for a promotion and/or a transfer. Now, he was supposed to do his “paperwork” today but was too busy, and he’s off work tomorrow, but he will be doing it on Thursday (or he’s sleeping on the couch! lol). So, it’s just a matter of time before we’ll be looking at a transfer! We’re sooooo excited. ^_^ I’m not going to say that living in Alabama has been all bad – we love this little town and we enjoyed the time we spent with our nephew (though it’s been more than a year since the last time we spent more than a few hours with him); but the longer we stay here the more obvious that this is just not the place for us.
And though some people would be cautious with their expectations, I’m optimistic. that we will end up exactly where we’re supposed to. Maybe we needed this time living here – I know that I’ve learned several important lessons living here; so I whole-heartedly believe that we will end up exactly where we’re supposed to be. ^_^ I’m excited about the move, about the new possibilities. I do worry that this restlessness isn’t simply a desire to find our right place – that we’ve been struck by a wanderlust that won’t allow us to stay put anywhere – but I have to believe that our desire for home, a place that is all ours, will outweigh our wanderlust.
So, say a little prayer for us that it happens the best way for us. I’ll keep y’all posted, not to worry. ^__~ Now, to clean house a little and wait on our friend, Austin to get here (tonight/early this morning). He’ll be staying with us for a couple of days and I’m excited to see him. He was Joshwa’s best man (and one of his best friends since high school) and I’m endlessly fond of him, but it’s been nearly five years since the last time I saw him (more like four for Joshwa). It’s gonna be a fun “weekend”.
