Spiritual Saturday

I found this fun little Pagan Meme from my friend AmandaJillian over at Living a Fairy Tale.  It was so much fun reading hers, I just had to grab it and give it a try.  ^_^

Do you have a magical/Pagan name? Yes. No, I won’t tell you what it is.

What does it mean?  It’s my connection to Divine in a time when I was too new to find Them alone.

How did you find Paganism? Through a book – like so many of us – that showed me how to open myself to the God and Goddess and told me that things I’ve always believed and been able to do.

How long have you been practicing? Since I was 13 – 13 years.

Solitary or group practitioner?   Solitary mostly because I follow an very individual path, but I love gatherings and get-togethers.

What is your path?    I call it eclectic Irish.

Are you out of the broom closet? Not completely – I’ve come clean to everyone except most of my family (all of my siblings and in-laws know).

Who is your patron God? the Dagda

Who is your patron Goddess? Danu

What Gods do you worship? Only the Dagda and Danu.  I acknowledge other faces of the Divine as the same Deity, but I only worship the Dagda and Danu.

Do you fear darkly aspected Gods/Goddess, or rather respect them? No, I have found some deep wisdom in the darkness.

Do you worship the Christian God? No, but my husband does.

Do you ever worship animals? No, but I commune with them.

Or plants? No, but I commune with them, too.

Do you regularly commune with nature? Every chance I get!  It’s like breathing.

Ever walked barefoot in the woods? Not in too long.

Taken a camping trip just to talk to nature? Not for the sole purpose of talking to nature, I can do that just about anywhere, lol.

Describe the moment you felt closest to Mother Earth? One night, at the Circle of the Green Fairy (the Pagan shop in my hometown), we were doing a new moon meditation ritual.  I went deep, very deep, and when I came out, I felt like I could really fly.  I could feel the earth spinning, I could feel every breath of air, and it was the most amazing, closest experience to the Divine I’ve ever experienced.

Do you have a familiar? Not for a while.

Have you ever called upon the powers of an animal in ritual? Yes, a few times, to fortify myself.

Or a plant? No, but I’ve used plants to help my focus.

Do you hug trees? Yes, it makes us both feel better. ^__^

Give them gifts?   Water, milk and honey, cookies, occasionally pretty stones.

What is your favourite flower to work with? Don’t have a favorite to work with, but daisies are my favorite.  ^__^

What is your favourite tree to work with?   Oak and Yew.

W H E E L  O F  T H E  Y E A R

What is your favourite holiday? Samhain.

What is your least favourite holiday? I don’t have a least favorite, if I don’t like it, I just ignore it.  ^__^

Have you ever held a ritual on a holiday? Regularly.

Ever taken a day off work to celebrate a Pagan holiday? No, but never been in a situation where it would apply.

Do you celebrate Yule on the 21 rather than the 25? I’ve never considered doing it on the 25th, especially since we celebrate secular Christmas.

Have you ever felt the veil thin? Yes, the night of the new moon ritual (mentioned above), a few times on Samhain, several times when I was a child, thought I didn’t know at the time what it was.

Ever danced the Maypole? No, actually, never have.  Isn’t that sad.

Know what the Maypole symbolizes? “Phallic symbol! Phallic symbol!” <~ ditto <~ (double?) ditto

How do you usually celebrate the Pagan holidays? Depends on the holiday.

Do you use Tarot?   No, I tried, but I have no talent with the cards.

Do you use runes?   I’ve only tried once, but it didn’t work then (using someone else’s stones).

Do you use a pendulum? Occasionally, but I can only use it when I loose things around the house.

Do you use dowsing rods? Never tried.

Do you use astrology? For shit and giggles. <~ great way of putting it!

Any other form of divination? Dreams and direct inspiration (just get messages that I know certain people need to hear, it’s kinda cool when I’m ready for it, kinda exhausting when I’m not)

What was the first spell you did? Spell for peace.

What was the latest? A positivity (good luck would probably be a good way to explain) for a friend in need and for a family in need.

Ever done a love spell? No.

A job spell? A spell for calm and clarity before an interview.

A healing spell? I wouldn’t call it a spell, I do energy healing, but all the time.

What was the most powerful spell you’ve ever performed? A rain spell done with two small children.  The faith of children is the most powerful magick.

What deities do you usually call on? I call my God and Goddess to watch over me while I work and to guide my hand to the greatest good.

C R Y P T O Z O O L O G Y

Do you believe in Vampires? I’ve known a few psy-vamps

Werewolves? I know a fair few lycans.<~ this, I even dated one.

Shapeshifters? Not biologically, better to say “otherkin”

Elves? Yeah.

Faeries? Seems something has been moved or is missing?  It’s the fairies.  (yeah I have a house full, lol)

Dragons? Definitely. <~ yep

Nymphs? This needs to be more of a check list.  Yep.

Sprites? I was one once.  ^__^ (that’s a yes)

Mermaids? No, only nymphs.  (that was sarcasm for the sake of amusement)

Satyrs? I’m sure, just never met one.

Ever “seen” any of the above? Yes, all the time.

Ever talked to any of the above? Again, all the time.

Ever used any of the above in magic?  Occasionally, but carefully.  ^__^

Do you have one of them as a personal guardian? I don’t know about personal guardians, but since I’ve been blessed that they call my home their home, they guard my home.  Some of them even stayed with our stuff while we had it in storage.

Do you see a rabbit, a man or a woman in the moon? I see a symbol of the power of the Divine.  (yeah, I just see a moon, too)

Own a cat? Not since my Loki kitty and Paetr shit.  I miss them.

When you meditate, what does your happy place look like? A twilit forest, just enough light to see the path.

Do you work with Chakras?  Only my own.

Do you believe in past lives? I know of a few of mine.

If so, describe a few briefly: I was a woman in the British Isles who watched her children killed and died in a war of some sort (not a clan war because of the manner of death).  Was also a Greek slave.  Was also Native American once.

Do you believe in soul mates? Yes, and I’ve spent several lives with mine. ❤

Do you have a spirit guide? I have an old, silver haired wolf and a young sparrow.  There has also been a NA sprite (don’t know what they are called, since he was more of a silent, show-you-what-he-means kinda guy) and a slave girl that I’m pretty sure was a past life.

Is it always love and light? No, sometimes it’s blood and sweat and darkness.  Sometimes the light burns and the only solace is the darkness that holds and protects.

    • I saw that, but it’s okay. I don’t have that many blogging friends (mainly you and Danni), so I wouldn’t have anyone to tag anyway. ^__^ I had fun theifing this, though!

Please, let me know what you think!
