So, I wanted to stop by and let everyone know I’m still here! It’s been nearly a month since my last post here because I’ve been busy with a project. It’s National Novel Writing Month, a month where you write like mad to reach 50,000 words in 30 days. I’m working on a shapeshifter novel – not at all what I had thought I would be writing about this month! I had planned out a romance from the 14th century – a story that I’d like to work on again later – but on Halloween, just after midnight, this story came up and got me by the throat and just demanded to be written. And here I am, 36K in, just past the major turning point in my story, and I’m loving it! My bestest friend, Bubba (as in girl-Bubba, not my little brother, Bubba) has been my “pre-editor”, reading as I go and giving me encouragement where I need it and a bit of a reality check when something just didn’t work. So far, she’s addicted. ^__^ I don’t want to get my hopes too far up, because I’ve heard getting published is hard, but this is a story I really want to share. So, once NaNoWriMo is over and my story is finished (and perfected, of course), I’ll start doing what I can. And not to worry, y’all will be the second/third (after my hubby, my bff, and my family, of course) to know about it!
Let’s see, what else. Oh! As we all know, this Thursday is Thanksgiving. Well, I’ll be traveling to Texas with my parents and favorite aunt to see my little brother and another aunt and her family. Awesome, right? Kinda. Obviously, spending the holiday with some of my favorite people is wicked awesome. The bad thing? My darling Joshwa, love of my life, is getting left behind. Josh has to work, but he has decreed that I am to go without him. So, tomorrow evening (find out exactly when later today) he’s taking me to Meridian to meet my Momma and drop me off and I won’t see him again until NEXT TUESDAY. That is seven whole days! This is going to be the longest we’ve been apart in SIX years. Why? Because as of Thanksgiving Day, it will have been six years since Joshwa moved in with me – on Thanksgiving Day. Now, to some people (like my awesome Momma), it seems silly to keep track of all these anniversaries – especially since we have two “wedding” anniversaries – March 29th (4 years) and June 16 (FIVE years, woohoo!). But every day I’m thankful that I – who never thought she’d fall in love, let alone get married – have found a man-made just for me by the God and Goddess. So I get a little sappy. So sue me. ^__^
Well, that’s all I’ve got for now. It’s 7am and I haven’t been to bed yet. Gonna hit the hay for a couple of hours, and then spend the day with my Joshwa, soaking him up today and tomorrow in hopes that it’ll hold me over until I can get home again.
Happy Turkey Day!
