Well good and bad

Well, first thing is that I’m writing this blog from my new computer!  Woot!  Well, new to me.  It was a computer that my mom’s work no longer needed that she passed on to me.  I still need to get my hands on Windows XP (yeah, Windows 200 here, lol) and we’re going to get an external drive enclosure so we can turn the four laptop hard drives into an external.  Then, we plan on getting Windows 7 and updating everything.  It’s awesomely exciting.  Oh. and can’t forget a new monitor so that Joshwa can have his monitor back.  ^__^ Cause I completely hijacked his gamer monitor.  Bwahaha!

Okay, now I’m going to take a moment to be serious and somber.  As of yesterday, a man who I’ve known since grade school passed away.  Jake was two years older than me, but we went to the same church for many years and though I would never say that I was close to the youth at that church, we were often together and Jake was one of the few people who were genuinely nice (Christian-like) to me.  Then, in college, his mother was working with my aunt and I spent a great deal of time with her.  Mrs. Donna is one of the greatest people on the face of the earth.  And over the last year or so, she has struggled by her son’s side through hundreds of treatments and doctors’ appointment.  Finally, after a long struggle, Jake has passed peacefully into the next world.  In part, I weep for him because he died without having loved; and yet, I’m thankful that there isn’t a widow mourning the death of her husband, a man who I greatly respected.  Rest in Peace, Jake Cobb.

Okay, now I need to move on to brighter things.  Yesterday it rained thanks to Tropical Storm Lee and the temperature dropped dramatically.  Today? It topped out in the mid 60s!  Hallelujah!  We’ve got the windows open and it’s deliciously chilly!  Woot!  Now if only it would stay this way until it snowed (you know, if it snowed here), I would be happy as a bear in a beehive.  ^__^  Here shortly we’re going upstairs to cuddle happily in our bed under our big awesome comforter with the fan running (to make sure there is air flow all night, because I get stuffy without it sometimes).  Then, I’m gonna sleep like a bug in a rug, just like I was lucky enough to do last night.  Happy fall, everyone!  ^__^

Remember to never take anyone for granted.  Brightest blessings and the blessings of harvest and fall to all!
